The Business and the Manager
The world of trade and commerce would cease to roll if not for the field of business management and services. Management takes care of the day-to-day operations of a business, and it is through a manager that processes and methods are funnelled into the proper places.
However, the quest to succeed in business does not just end in the proper applications of business management. There should also be an element of risk-taking since the business world is rife with opportunities waiting only to be grabbed by the quickest taker. In addition, the rapidly changing business environment all the more presents challenges to the manager because it means that grabbing chances may make or break the business.
The best shot that the manager can take is to match the company's capabilities with that of the market's needs, and vice versa. Nevertheless, the buying behaviour of customers is often hard to influence, compelling the business to make the necessary adjustments on its end.
Take for example a market of elite holidaymakers. If the company is running a hotel, it should make sure that it accommodates and entertains its customers really well. Its establishment must exude in luxury, from the main gates to the individual suites. After all, upper class guests are known to be especially keen with product or service quality. Hence, it is common for high-star hotels to provide world-class seating and bedding in all parts of the establishment - a sign of its commitment to providing utmost comfort and style.
